Faculty and student researchers associated with the Maryland Transportation Initiative and several departments and units at the University of Maryland will be presenting more than 35 technical papers and chairing several sessions and committee meetings at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board of the National Research Council of the Academies of Engineering and Science, which takes place in January 2006.

The Annual TRB Meeting is the largest conference of Transportation professionals in the world, and brings together a wide cross-section of researchers, practitioners and government policy makers engaged in various facets of transportation engineering, planning, design, construction, operation, administration and renewal of transportation systems, facilities and services. The participation of University of Maryland researchers in this meeting, listed in the attached program excerpt, reflects the breadth and depth of Transportation systems research at the University.

Alumni and friends of the program are reminded of the annual MTI reception on Sunday January 22, 6:00-7:30PM, in the Atrium of the Marriott Wardman Park.
