ENCE 688K - Open Channel Flow
Fall Semester 2006
Dr. Glenn E. Moglen
Course Description:
Course covers multiple topics relating to flow in open channels. Energy, momentum, and gradually varied flow are studied in depth. Several physical labs will be used to reinforce concepts of flow at sluice gates, flow at a hydraulic jump, and flow over varying types of roughness elements. Several numerical labs will also be used focusing on E-y and M-y diagrams and culminating in the use of HEC-RAS for modeling surface water profiles.
